BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join their Critical Care department. In this role you will perform diagnostics (radiographs, lab work, etc.), set up patients in ICU or inpatient ward, discharge patients, and handle client communication.

You will provide nursing care to patients, report status during rounds, monitor medications, perform phlebotomy, assist with anesthesia and monitoring, and stay current with CPR guidelines.

Qualifications

• Veterinary assistant with basic diagnostic knowledge and ICU setup.
• Strong communication with clients and team; accurate documentation.
• Willingness to follow hospital standards and continue learning.

Responsabilités

• Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards and core values.
• Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.
• Monitor medications and therapeutic response; administer medications as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy and physical exams; monitor vitals and mucous membranes.
• Assist with anesthesia/monitoring for ASA I or II patients.
• Follow RECOvER CPR guidelines and assist as assigned.
• Discharge patients and communicate with clients.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join their Critical Care department.

Pay

$21.26 - $31.45/Hr

Our Veterinary Assistants perform diagnostics (radiographs, labwork , etc ), setting patients up in ICU or Inpatient ward, discharging patients, and handle client communication.

As a Critical Care Veterinary Assistant, you will:

• Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.

• Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.

• Understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.

• Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.

• Perform phlebotomy.

• Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.

• Possess a working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment and assist with patients assigned ASA I or II classifications.

• Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrates proficiency in designated role as assigned by attending clinician and/or supervisor.
