Job summary

CityVet Uptown Charlotte is seeking a Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 2 years of veterinary medical experience to join our team. The role focuses on maintaining excellent patient care and operational productivity by supporting the lead veterinary team.

Responsibilities include assisting in medical, surgical, and dental procedures, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring compassionate client communication. Weekend and some holiday work may be required; knowledge of EzyVet is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of veterinary in-clinic experience.
• Ability to restrain animals safely and assist with radiographs and diagnostics.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Excellent communication, listening skills, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Willingness to work weekends and some holidays; schedules are set 6–8 weeks in advance.
• Experience with veterinary software (EzyVet is helpful but not required).
• Lift up to 50 lbs and maintain stamina for standing, bending and lifting.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
• Knowledge of dental procedures preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Take thorough histories from clients and record vital signs.
• Record data in the medical records and coordinate with the veterinary team.
• Assist in preparing patients for medical, surgical, and dental procedures.
• Support client communication and front desk tasks.
• Assist in triage and follow SOPs for patient handling.
