Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Clearlake Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. You will support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, including patient handling, laboratory work, and clerical duties.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, accurate medical recordkeeping, and client communication. Schedule is Mon–Fri with daytime shifts; full-time presence is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older to be considered.
• 1 year or more of Veterinary medicine / Veterinary Assistant experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners, take weight and vital signs on arrival
• Triage patients, assist licensed veterinary technicians with exams, treatments and medications
• Calm anxious patients and assist doctors with medications or restraints
• Perform laboratory tests and radiographs; operate and maintain hospital equipment
• Maintain medical records and ensure proper documentation for controlled drugs
• Educate clients about insurance, wellness and treatment plans
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and safety; groom and bathe patients as needed
• Work full-time and promote hospital products and services
• Follow directions from DVM/LVT and perform other duties as assigned
