National Veterinary Associates (NVA) is seeking a veterinary assistant to support the hospital team in Gresham, Oregon. You will assist with patient care, monitor hospitalized pets, restrain animals during procedures, manage inventory, and help clients with their pets.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Self-starter, able to multitask and work well in a team.
• Genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to handle stressed or in-pain animals.
• Prefer 1+ years of experience, but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks (assisted by staff).
• Must stand/walk for extended periods and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and treatment.
• Monitor hospitalized pets and aid in post-surgery care.
• Maintain inventory and stocking of supplies.
• Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims.
• Assist with routine diagnostic tests such as radiographs and bloodwork.
• Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments.
• Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, and treatment areas.
• Administer medications under supervision.
• Answer phones and provide customer service.
• Help clients with their pets.
