Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program, or equivalent education and experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 18 years old for radiography duties; one year related experience with customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarian and veterinary technician to ensure quality pet care and maximize productivity.
• Communicate with veterinarians, technicians and associates to maintain patient flow.
• Provide professional, efficient service; prepare procedures and educate clients on wellness plans and hospital services.
• Ensure safety of pets and clients by using proper restraining techniques and maintaining clean treatment areas.
• Assist with surgery as applicable and follow NAVTA guidelines for veterinary assistant duties.
• Mentor paraprofessionals in the hospital.
