SAGE Veterinary Centers – San Francisco, CA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join the Cardiology team. You will support specialists caring for patients with cardiovascular conditions, assist with diagnostics such as ECGs, echocardiography, and Holter monitoring, and help with patient care and record-keeping.

This role offers hands-on growth in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital, with opportunities to expand skills in cardiology, anesthesia, and specialty medicine.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of hands-on veterinary clinical experience.
• Cardiology, Emergency, or Internal Medicine experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• VACSP license within 60 days of hire, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Cardiology appointments, intake, histories, and patient care.
• Support cardiac diagnostics including ECGs, blood pressure, radiographs, echocardiograms, and Holter monitoring.
• Perform venipuncture and assist with IV catheter placement.
• Prepare equipment and treatment areas for Cardiology procedures.
• Maintain medical records and communicate with clients.

SAGE San Francisco is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Cardiology team. You'll work alongside specialty veterinary professionals caring for patients with cardiovascular conditions while gaining hands-on experience with advanced cardiac diagnostics and specialty medicine.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Specialty Veterinary Assistant looking to expand their skills in cardiology, ECG, echocardiography, anesthesia, and advanced patient care.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

• Assist with Cardiology appointments, patient intake, medical histories, and patient care.
• Support cardiac diagnostics including ECGs, blood pressure measurements, radiographs, echocardiograms, and Holter monitoring.
• Perform venipuncture, assist with IV catheter placement, and prepare laboratory samples.
• Safely restrain, position, and monitor patients during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Prepare equipment, supplies, and treatment areas for Cardiology procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate with clients regarding patient care.
• Collaborate with Cardiology, Emergency, and Specialty teams to provide exceptional patient care.

What You Bring

• Two or more years of hands‑on veterinary clinical experience strongly preferred.
• Cardiology, Specialty, Emergency, or Internal Medicine experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong animal handling, restraint, venipuncture, and patient monitoring skills.
• Experience with ECG, blood pressure monitoring, radiographs, or other cardiac diagnostics is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative specialty hospital.
• California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) required within 60 days of hire, if applicable.
