Job Description Summary

The Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients, and staff, and maintaining quality veterinary care.

Preferred Education/Licenses:

Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent education, training, and experience. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Experience:

Ability to perform all required skills of NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant programs to support practice efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining the flow of patients
• Communicate with veterinarians and vet techs
• Perform procedures within scope without veterinarian or tech assistance
• Ensure safety and cleanliness in treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs
• Educate clients about wellness plans and preventive care
• Mentor team members
