Job summary

Winder Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support a multi-doctor practice. You will restrain and triage patients, collect samples, perform diagnostic imaging, and assist with anesthesia and surgical preparation.

Excellent communication with clients is essential. Applicants should have at least 1 year of experience, be compassionate and a team player, and capable of maintaining composure in busy environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as Veterinary Assistant preferred.
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring bonus.

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging.
• Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability.
• Administration of medications and effective communication of treatment plans with clients.
• Surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

WinderAnimal Hospital has been trusted to care for pets in our community since 1956. Our clients are loyal, and our support team is outgoing, dedicated, trained, and efficient. We are known for our personal attention and trustworthy services.

Winder Animal Hospital is a multi-doctor companion animal and AAHA accredited facility in beautiful Winder, GA. We offer wellness care, urgent care, surgery, high speed dentistry, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, orthopedic surgery, and more.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
