The Integrative Veterinary Clinic is hiring a Full Time Veterinary Assistant!

The Integrative Veterinary Clinic specializes in providing high-quality veterinary care with a uniquely personalized approach. We understand that many pet owners are increasingly interested in exploring alternative therapies, particularly as their pets age. That’s why we offer a range of integrative veterinarian treatments such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, and ozone therapy, which are considered complementary or alternative in most clinics. These therapies can provide additional options for improving your pet’s health and well-being.

Location: 504 IN-32, Westfield, IN 46074
Hours: Mon - Fri: 8am - 6pm; Sat: 8am - 12pm; Sun: Closed
Compensation: $16-$18/hr based on experience

We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable wearing a few hats—not just in the Veterinary Assistant role, but also helping with scheduling appointments, answering phones, and keeping up with client communication.

Job Summary

The Veterinary Assistant aids and supports the medical support team in the operation of an animal facility in accordance with Mission Veterinary Partners (MVP) hospital policy and procedures. The Veterinary Assistant also provides medical care to patients as allowed in the veterinary practice act.

Responsibilities

How you'll make an impact:

• Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
• Assist in all daily duties for clinic care.
• Participate in any special cleaning duties.
• Provide client care by scheduling appointments, taking payments, and check-ins.
• Maintain excellent client communication.
• Record all pertinent medical, client, and case-related information in the patient record accurately with appropriate grammar, terms, and information.
• Review medical records, estimates, or discharge instructions with clients. Answer the phones courteously and informatively.
• Provide patient care under the direction of a DVM.
• Perform clinic upkeep as directed.
• Perform equipment maintenance as directed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in a veterinary environment required - 5 or more years.
• Management experience preferred - 2 or more years.
• Proficiency in laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills.
• Ability to demonstrate patience and composure in stressful situations, handle a fast-paced environment, and stay calm during medical crises.
• Reasoning, memory, mathematics, and language skills (reading, writing, speaking English) to perform duties proficiently.
• Confidence around pets.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
• Endurance to sit, stand, and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods.
• Ability to work in noisy environments with animal and equipment sounds.
• Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch, and to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medications.
• Sufficient ambulatory skills and specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment).
• Good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and visual acuity for operating equipment and using a keyboard.
