Job summary

WVRC Waukesha, part of Ethos Veterinary Health, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for Surgery in Waukesha, WI. This full-time role offers a 1st shift schedule (4 ten-hour shifts, no weekends, no on-call) with a starting pay of $16.50/hour plus experience-based adjustments.

You will restrain patients, maintain clean treatment and surgery areas, stock supplies, assist with anesthesia equipment, and support patient comfort during procedures.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in the veterinary field, including veterinary customer service.
• Collaborative approach and commitment to building relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community.
• Positive attitude and passion for delivering high‑quality patient care and exceptional client service.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely restrain patients during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Maintain clean kennels, treatment areas, surgery suites, and floors.
• Stock treatment areas and surgery suites with necessary supplies.
• Complete laundry to ensure clean bedding, towels, and other linens.
• Support patient comfort by providing meals and taking patients outside as needed.
• Assist with maintaining surgery and anesthesia equipment and cleaning surgical instruments.
• Help prepare patients and procedure areas for surgical and non-surgical procedures.
• Manage multiple tasks with attention to detail in a physically active environment.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will:
