Bayshore Animal Hospital in Warrenton, OR is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support exceptional experiences for clients and patients across hospital care. The role covers exam, outpatient, and surgical workflows with a 4/10 schedule and Monday–Friday plus rotating Saturdays.

Bayshore Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile assistant who enjoys variety in their day and wants to continue utilizing and developing a well-rounded skill set across patient care, client service, surgery, and procedures. We are seeking dependable, motivated candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask efficiently, anticipate team needs, communicate professionally, and take pride in delivering exceptional support throughout every stage of the patient visit.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, and surgical workflows
• Assisting in surgery prep and anesthetic recovery
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 17 - $21 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments. Exotic animal experience is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
  • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
  • Venipuncture and administering injections
  • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
  • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
