Job summary

Rye Harrison Veterinary Hospital at Rye Brook is opening a second location in August 2026 and is hiring full-time Veterinary Assistants to care for patients and serve clients. You will help shape a brand-new hospital culture in a modern facility, with strong backing from our sister Rye Harrison location.

Ideal candidates have animal care experience, good client communication, and a passion for improving pets’ lives. Comprehensive benefits, PTO, 401(k), and employee pet discounts are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in animal care or veterinary setting preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples
• Administer medications and vaccinations under the supervision of a veterinarian
• Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits
• Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment

We're hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistants to provide skilled care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients. You'll help shape the culture of a brand-new hospital from day one, working in a modern facility outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment, alongside teammates who are just as excited as you are to build something special. As a sister hospital to our well-loved flagship Rye Harrison location, you'll have the backing of an established team, proven systems, and a trusted name in the community.

Salary:

$17.00 - $23.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position with a 4-day work week, Monday – Friday, and every other Saturday.
