Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to patient pets and families
• Keep accurate medical records per hospital policy
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas

• Prepare procedure estimates and discuss costs with clients
• Explain home care and follow-up instructions
• Stock treatment areas and notify inventory when supplies are low
• Help keep the operating room stocked and ready for surgery

Winter Hill Veterinary Clinic is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to our team. At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. You'll provide the highest quality progressive veterinary care for the life of our clients' pets. As part of our team, you'll work with the latest technology, gain access to state-of-the-art training facilities, and collaborate to deliver the highest quality of care to the pet patients we all love.

Winter Hill Veterinary Clinic is located in a beautiful historic building in Somerville, Massachusetts and is readily accessible by public transportation. We do offer free parking. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby and we have a peaceful outdoor patio area for the warmer months! We pride ourselves on maintaining a healthy team culture with work-life balance at the top of our priorities. We close every day for lunch and a break to catch up with paperwork.

Veterinary Assistant

Winter Hill Veterinary Clinic in Somerville, MA

$20.00-$24.00 per hour based on experience

What You’ll Do

• Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
• Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
• Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
• Perform physical assessments and record your observations
• Prepare estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients
• Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
• Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered
• Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery
