Who we are:

Grady Animal Hospital is ready to hire a Veterinary Assistant to add to our dedicated team of professionals.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and other members of the veterinary team to provide high-quality care to animals. This position requires a passion for working with animals, as well as the ability to handle them with compassion and professionalism.

Duties:

  • Assist veterinarians in providing care and treatment to animals
  • Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
  • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by veterinarians
  • Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas for procedures
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, such as bloodwork and urinalysis
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
  • Provide assistance with radiographs and other diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Monitor animals before and after surgery
  • Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and procedures

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is necessary
  • Knowledge of animal behavior, handling, and restraint techniques
  • Familiarity with common veterinary medications and vaccines
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
