Job summary

Town and Country Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This role supports veterinarians and staff in delivering compassionate nursing care and in maintaining client relations and medical records.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of clinic experience and a high school diploma. You must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, lift up to 40 pounds, stand, walk and restrain animals if needed. Telehealth, 401k and pet insurance are offered.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that clients and pets feel welcome and comfortable.

• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Filling prescriptions as directed by a veterinarian and explaining prescription directions.

• Keeping facilities clean and well maintained.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

• Ensuring that clients and pets feel welcome and comfortable.
• Assisting veterinarians to provide compassionate nursing care.
• Cleaning, maintaining, and preparing surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Filling prescriptions as directed by a veterinarian and explaining prescription directions.
• Assisting receptionists with check-in and checkout procedures and providing telephone support.

Requirements
