Animal Care Center Of Salem in Salem, VA is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our busy 4-doctor practice. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff to deliver high-quality care to pets and their owners.

You will help with rooms, restraint, anesthesia monitoring, client education, and postoperative care; participate in surgical prep; and assist with radiography as needed.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Assist with rooms and animal restraint

• Provide care for small animals and monitor anesthesia
• Educate clients on pet health and wellness
• Monitor patients during recovery and provide post-operative care

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of preventive care
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with anesthesia monitoring and fear-free techniques
• Knowledge of digital radiography and fluid therapy
• Ability to perform surgical preparation and monitoring
• Skills in running diagnostics and fecal flotation

Salary and Benefits:

• Minimum Salary: $30,000.00
• Maximum Salary: $33,000.00
