Job summary

Bogey Hills Animal Hospital is hiring a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant for our busy 3 doctor practice. We seek a friendly, outgoing professional who excels in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly, and is passionate about animal care.

As a team member you will support veterinarians with exams, surgery, dentistry, and anesthesia, handle animals calmly, document medical records, and assist with lab work and radiographs. In-person position located in Saint Charles, MO.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of veterinary experience required.
• Empathy: ability to hold sensitive, emotional conversations with care.
• Clear, professional, and compassionate communication skills.
• Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment.
• Tech-savvy: comfortable with digital tools, scheduling systems, and adapting to new platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion. Fear Free desired.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Maintain & sterilize surgical instruments/equipment
• Clean/Disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas of hospital
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, follow up communications with clients
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Schedule

Mon-Fri. 4 day work week, rotating Saturdays 830a-2p

Key Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, and recovery.
