Job summary

Animal Dermatology Clinic – Rocklin is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with Board-Certified Dermatologists and the technical team to manage complex cases and enhance quality of life for patients, while serving as a communication bridge between doctors and clients.

Responsibilities include assisting procedures, providing nursing care, maintaining records, dispensing medications as prescribed, and supporting front-desk duties when needed.

  • Capability to be cross-trained for front-office receptionist duties; strong telephone and computer skills.

Veterinary Assistant – Animal Dermatology Clinic – Rocklin

We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Animal Dermatology Clinic – Rocklin. The role involves working closely with Board-Certified Dermatologists and the technical team to manage complex cases, provide enhanced quality of life through treatments, and serve as a communication bridge between doctors and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with veterinary procedures, including preparing and restraining animals, applying bandages and splints, wound care, and using stethoscope and otoscope.
  • Provide compassionate nursing care for all patients and demonstrate excellent relations with clients in waiting areas and exam rooms.
  • Communicate findings clearly to the veterinarian and perform a cursory examination of animals to recognize potential patient issues.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping, fill prescriptions, and dispense medications as prescribed.
  • Perform housekeeping and maintenance tasks and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Exceed client expectations of service and serve as a bridge of communication between doctors and clients.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience or training/education in a veterinary facility.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and people‑oriented personality.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Capability to be cross‑trained for front‑office receptionist duties; strong telephone and computer skills.
  • Team player willing to learn new techniques, treatments, and accept change.
Education & Physical Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Dependable attendance.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Willingness to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions.
  • Capability to walk, bend, stand, squat, or reach constantly during a minimum 8‑hour day.

Salary
