Job summary

VCA Klingele Animal Hospital in Quincy, IL is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This full-time role includes two weekend shifts per month and compensation ranging from $16.00 to $19.00 per hour, starting based on experience and skill set.

Qualifications

• Experience in a veterinary setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams and procedures.
• Take patient histories and perform TPRs (temperature, pulse, respiration).
• Restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms.
• Assist with radiographs, lab sample collection, and basic in-house diagnostics.
• Maintain accurate medical records and support charting.
• Provide client education and ensure excellent service during visits.
• Support surgery prep and recovery as needed.
