Position Overview

Veterinary Assistant – Full-Time

Wage: $18 - $20 per hour

Monday thru Friday Schedule – Rotating Saturdays in the future

As a Veterinary Assistant at Loudoun Veterinary Service, you’ll be an essential part of our team. Your role will include direct patient care, anesthesia monitoring, and assisting with a variety of surgical procedures. We’re looking for an assistant who enjoys a mix of surgery and client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic but essential clinical procedures.
• Assist surgery team in anesthetic monitoring.
• Take blood samples and set up lab equipment.
• Maintain prompt and accurate patient records.
• Provide client education and reassurance.
• Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of veterinary experience preferred.
• Reliable with minimal callouts.
• Willing to receive surgical training if not already performed.
• Proficient with blood draws and basic lab equipment.
• Comfortable restraining both cats and dogs.
• Cross‑trained or willing to cross‑train.
• Professional, team‑oriented, and drama‑free.
• Eager to learn, grow, and expand skills.

Clinic Hours

• Monday–Thursday: 8 AM – 6 PM
