Job Description/Overview:

Veterinary Assistants are vital members of our care team, ensuring every animal feels safe, clean, and comfortable. They oversee patient care, maintain cleanliness, support veterinarians, and help ensure compassionate, focused care at PetVet365.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Live and exemplify the PetVet365 Purpose, Mission, and Vision within oneself and the team.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and clients following Fear Free principles.
  • Receive animals for admission, ensure proper identification, and record their locations.
  • Release animals to owners as directed by the veterinarian, ensuring animals are clean and groomed.
  • Regularly clean and sanitize cages, wards, and related areas; change litter boxes.
  • Administer care such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and collecting specimens, as assigned.
  • Record and report any unusual conditions or behaviors in patients.
  • Assist with medication administration and restraint when needed.
  • Clean equipment and facilities efficiently and skillfully.
  • Maintain storage and other areas in good order.
  • Foster positive, cooperative relationships with team members.
  • Assist with answering phones, scheduling, and texts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Professional Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Fear Free Certification (provided by us)
  • Two years of veterinary assistant experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to lift 40+ pounds
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience working with animals
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in computers
  • Excellent organizational skills for multitasking
