Maplewood Veterinary Center in Iowa is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team of experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and devoted support staff. You will help ensure high standards of animal care and client service during every stay.

Responsibilities include assisting with examinations and surgeries, handling and restraining animals, preparing rooms, taking samples, administering medications, maintaining records, and communicating with pet owners.

Formación

• At least 1 year of veterinary experience is required.
• Surgical experience is required.
• Technical know-how in disinfection, administering medication, and using diagnostic equipment.
• Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.

• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples.
• Administer medications and vaccinations under supervision of a veterinarian.
• Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate with pet owners about care plans and follow-ups.
• Keep the clinic clean and stocked with supplies.

Maplewood Veterinary Center is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant to work alongside our team of experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and devoted support staff to ensure each animal receives the best possible care during their stay with us. Salary

$17-$20 per hour, based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule

Full-time, 4 days per week, Monday–Friday, 7:15 AM–5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break. No weekend hours!

Key Responsibilities
