Job summary

VCA Lakota Hills Animal Hospital, part of VCA Animal Hospitals, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join a 6-doctor team focused on dogs and cats. The role includes assisting veterinarians, taking histories, restraining animals, preparing rooms, and supporting diagnostics and surgery.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a veterinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams and procedures.
• Take patient histories and perform TPRs (temperature, pulse, respiration).
• Restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms.
• Assist with radiographs, lab sample collection, and basic in-house diagnostics.
• Maintain medical records and support charting.
• Provide client education and ensure excellent service during visits.
• Support surgery prep and recovery as needed.
• Help maintain a clean, stocked, and organized hospital environment.

Compensation:

The starting range is $ 15 - 18/hr and is determined by skill set, and years of experience in the field.

What You'll Do:

At VCA Lakota Hills Animal Hospital, you'll join a 6-doctor team that focuses on caring for dogs and cats, with a strong reputation for compassionate medicine and long-standing client relationships.

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams and procedures
