BluePearl Pet Hospital in Oak Creek, WI is hiring an extraordinary ER Veterinary Assistant!

VA I-II Pay: $18.45 - $27.35/Hr

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will:

1. Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
2. Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds.
3. Understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects, and appropriately monitor therapeutic response.
4. Administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
5. Perform physical exams; accurately assess heart rate, pulse, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort.
6. Possess a working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment and assist with patients classified as ASA I or II.
7. Stay current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrate proficiency in assigned roles as directed by clinicians or supervisors.
