At Inwood Animal Clinic, we specialize in quality veterinary care for pets of all ages. We are available to address any potential issues, ensuring our patients enjoy a lifetime of great health. Our goal is to deliver top-quality care for every animal that walks through our doors. We've been serving New York City since 2008 and are conveniently located on Broadway between Academy Street and 204th Street.

Our hours of operation are:

• Monday: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
• Tuesday: 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
• Wednesday: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
• Thursday: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
• Friday: 9:00 am - 7:00 pm
• Saturday: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
• Sunday: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Pet restraint and triage of incoming patients
• Collection and analysis of lab samples
• Diagnostic imaging
• Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases
• Administration of medications
• Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
• Surgical preparation and assistance
• Anesthetic management

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises and may be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We are looking for:

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with at least 5 years of experience
• Currently enrolled in a program to become a licensed veterinary technician (preferred)
• Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker, and strong communicator
• Ability to properly restrain pets
• Proficiency in sample collection, blood draws, obtaining medical histories, processing lab tests, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring (a bonus)
• A self-starter eager to continue learning and advancing skills
• Saturdays are required

Additional Information

Pay Range: $16 to $22/hr

Positions available: Full-time and Part-time
