Job description

Pet accidents, illnesses, and injuries are all unfortunate and seem to always happen at the worst of times when primary care veterinarians are either closed or too busy to see the pet. For these reasons, we are excited to announce that our new Priority Pet Urgent Care of Hermitage is on the horizon!

We’ll be available for urgent care pet needs 7 days a week from 2pm – 10pm. We are looking to hire compassionate, experienced, and qualified Veterinarians and support staff to ensure the highest quality of medicine is provided. Our new building and state-of-the-art equipment will give our teams the space and tools needed to deliver excellent service and medical care to our community!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Pet restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
• Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year experience preferred as a Veterinary Assistant.
• Compassionate and calm team player.
• Ability to properly restrain pets.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Proficiency in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring skills are a bonus!
• Self-starter with a desire to continue learning and developing skills.
