Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Monroeville, PA is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join their growing hospital!

Other duties might include answering phones, stocking, cleaning, setting up ORs, and scrubbing instruments.

Schedule:

5 days a week, 8-hour shifts, Sunday through Friday

Responsibilities:

1. Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
2. Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds.
3. Understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects, and monitor therapeutic responses.
4. Administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
5. Perform phlebotomy.
6. Perform physical exams, including checking heart rate, pulse, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort.
7. Possess knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment and assist with patients classified as ASA I or II.
8. Stay current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrate proficiency in assigned roles.
