Job summary

Milford Veterinary Hospital in Milford, NH seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join a six-doctor team in a full-service small-animal hospital. We are AAHA-accredited, Cat Friendly Certified, and Fear Free Certified, offering a supportive practice with high standards of care.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital or animal shelter.
• Knowledge of core vs. lifestyle vaccines.
• Experience collecting and documenting patient histories.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• A team-oriented approach to patient care.
• Venipuncture experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Essential Patient Care: assist the medical team with hands-on care and ensure each animal is treated with compassion.
• Be the Go-To Support for the Medical Team: anticipate needs to ensure smooth, efficient, and collaborative workflow.
• Create a Positive Client Experience: assist with scheduling, payments, and communications in a courteous and informative manner.
• Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment: uphold high standards of cleanliness and equipment upkeep.

Location: Milford, NH

Schedule: Full-Time 4/10's no weekends

Wage: $20–$24/hour

Milford Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our six-doctor team! We are a full-service small-animal hospital committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care in a low-stress environment. Our hospital is AAHA-accredited, Cat Friendly Certified®, and Fear Free Certified , giving our team the opportunity to work in a supportive practice with strong standards of care.

What You'll Bring to the Team

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure.
• Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
