Job summary

Island Cats Veterinary Hospital on Mercer Island, WA seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join a feline-only practice known for a calm, cat-focused environment. The role supports veterinarians and technicians in outpatient care, with emphasis on compassionate client communication and detailed medical record documentation.

We offer a full-time 4/10 schedule, no weekends, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, disability, 401k, and PTO.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary assistant experience in a clinical setting.
• Passion for feline medicine and exceptional client service.
• Proficiency in exam room assistance, surgical setup, venipuncture, radiology, and feline restraint.

Island Cats Veterinary Hospitalis seeking an experiencedVeterinary Assistantto join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for an outgoing, compassionate assistant with strong technical and client-service skills who thrives on building meaningful connections with both cats and their people.

In this role, you will:

• Provide exceptional patient and client care while maintaining an efficient exam room flow
• Accurately document patient care and maintain detailed medical records
• Review treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients, answering questions with empathy and clarity
• Support the veterinarian and technicians during outpatient care and procedures to ensure the highest level of feline-focused medicine

This is a full-time position with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed M-F. If you’re a skilled Veterinary Assistant who’s passionate about cats and looking for a balanced,no-weekend schedule, we’d love to hear from you!

Full-time benefits and compensation**:

• Compensation: $20 - $22 per hour, for each hour worked*
• Bonus package: $500 for those with 3+ years of consecutive, current VA experience
