Job Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care and treatment
- Monitor hospitalized pets and support animals after surgery
- Maintain inventory and stocking
- Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims
- Aide with routine diagnostic tests (radiographs, bloodwork, fecal exams)
- Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas
- Administer medications under veterinarian or veterinary technician supervision
- Feed and bathe animals
- Answer phones and assist reception as needed
- Provide customer service and help clients with their pets
Skills & Basic Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Self‑starter, able to multitask, and a team player
- Willing to be cross‑trained to reception duties as needed
- Enjoys working with animals and can handle stressed, ill, or painful animals
- Preferred 1+ year experience in a veterinary setting (not required)
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and restrain animals up to 40 lbs; lifting animals over 40 lbs with assistance
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods, and frequently work in bent or squatting positions
- Teamwork orientation and ability to work well with all hospital team members
Compensation and Benefits
- Base hourly rate $14.00–$18.00, DOE
- Eligible for periodic bonus (where applicable)
