Role Summary
As a key member of the hospital team, the Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients and staff while maintaining the continuity of quality veterinary care.
Key Responsibilities
- Help maintain the flow of patients through the clinic.
- Communicate with veterinarians and veterinary technicians regarding patient care.
- Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or veterinary technician assistance.
- Adhere to hospital standards to keep treatment areas, exam rooms and labs clean and organized.
- Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and the importance of preventive care.
- Mentor other members of the hospital team.
- Support the overall safety and well‑being of pets and staff.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferred education: Certificate of completion from a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to perform all required skills of NAVTA‑approved programs at a level that aids in the efficiency of the practice.

Pay Range
$16.79 - $21.46 per hour (based on experience, skill level and education).
