Job Description Summary:

The Veterinary Assistant is a key member of the hospital team who supports and assists veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients, and staff, and maintaining quality veterinary care.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform all required skills of NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant programs.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining patient flow.
• Communicate effectively with veterinarians and vet techs.
• Perform procedures within scope of practice without direct supervision.
• Maintain hospital standards for safety, cleanliness, and organization.
• Educate clients on wellness plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other team members.
