Job summary

Locust Valley Veterinary Clinic in Locust Valley, NY is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join a busy team and support doctors, technicians, and pet owners. You will greet clients, manage appointments, and help keep the clinic running smoothly while assisting in restraint and comfort of animals.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, quality customer care to patients and clients
• Process invoices payments
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and obtain all necessary medical history
• Determine the status of the patient's immunizations and tests
• Communicate with the doctor and technical staff on the patient’s arrival and necessary treatments
• Fill prescriptions, food requests, and over-the-counter products as instructed by a veterinarian
• Accurately input data into computer software

Your responsibilities will include greeting clients with a warm and professional demeanor, managing appointments, and ensuring smooth communication between the veterinary team and pet owners. Additionally, you will be trained to assist in the safe restraint of cats and dogs during examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
