Job summary

Lakewood Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. You will help deliver high-quality care while supporting daily operations in a fast-paced clinic.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of veterinary assisting experience and are comfortable with animal handling, disinfection, and assisting during procedures. On-site shifts are four 10-hour days with no weekends, and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of veterinary assistant experience.
• Technical know-how in disinfection, medication administration, and diagnostic equipment.
• Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting samples.
• Administer medications and vaccinations under supervision.
• Communicate with pet owners about care plans and follow-ups.
• Maintain accurate medical records and clinic organization.

Veterinary Assistant

Lakewood Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Vet Assistant to work alongside our team of experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and devoted support staff to ensure each animal receives the best possible care during their stay with us. Salary:

$17-$20/hr. based on experience and skill set.

Schedule:

Four 10 hour shifts 7:45 AM to 6:00 PM, NO WEEKENDS!

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples
• Administer medications and vaccinations under the supervision of a veterinarian
• Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as neededMaintain accurate medical records
• Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits
• Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment

Qualifications:

• Must have 1+ years of veterinary assistant experience.
• Technical know-how in areas such as disinfection, administering medication, and using diagnostic equipment.
• Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
