With new practices launching in early 2024, we are seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our Healthcare Practice Team. As a clinical team member, you’ll contribute to a practice built from scratch by veterinarians, equipped with advanced technology to deliver top-tier medicine and focus on patient and pet parent care. What You'll Do
  1. Support the practice team by providing high-quality veterinary support and embodying Chewy Vet Care’s culture, working collaboratively to deliver a WOW experience to pet parents.
  2. Implement policies and procedures using integrated technology, delivering consistent medical care within your abilities.
  3. Assist veterinarians with medical equipment (labs, radiology, anesthesia, dental) and handle animal bodily fluids and tissues.
  4. Show support and care for team members’ work experiences.
  5. Follow practice SOPs and SOCs.
  6. Review invoices and handle client payments.
  7. Communicate clearly with team members, keeping veterinarians informed of patient updates in real-time.
  8. Use and assist others with PIMS technology.
  9. Manage pharmacy holdings responsibly and maintain controlled substance logs.
  10. Assist with inventory communication as needed.
  11. Maintain cleanliness of workspaces after patient interactions.
  12. Participate in self-development courses and required training.
  13. Perform other duties as directed by management.
  14. May require working weekends and some travel.
What You’ll Need
  1. Completion of an accredited veterinary assistant program preferred.
  2. Ability to complete the veterinary assistant skills checklist.
  3. 0-2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
  4. Experience in veterinary medicine.
  5. Passion for helping people and pets with empathy and excellent customer service.
  6. Strong communication skills and ability to connect with clients.
  7. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Job Requirements
  1. Standing or walking up to 80% of the shift.
  2. Frequently lift up to 50-70 pounds, with team assistance for heavier lifts.
  3. Occasionally lift more than 70 pounds with team help.
  4. Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel as needed.

The hourly rate ranges from $21 to $23.25, influenced by experience, education, and location. The position is eligible for a 401k plan. We offer various insurance options, benefits, paid time off, holidays, and other perks including pet insurance discounts.
