Job summary

VCA Advanced Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians with exams and procedures. The role includes taking patient histories, performing basic measurements like TPRs, and restraining animals safely to ensure compassionate care.

The assistant will help maintain exam rooms, support radiographs and lab collection, keep accurate medical records, and educate clients. A strong team player with a passion for animal welfare is desired.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

Schedule

Full-time position that would include two weekend shifts per month.

Compensation

$16.00 - 19.00 and the starting range is determined by skill set, and years of experience in the field.
