Job summary

VCA Animal Hospitals is seeking a Client Service Representative in the United States to greet clients and manage front-desk operations while supporting pets and their families. You will schedule appointments, handle payments, and educate clients on basic pet care.

You will also assist with medical records, maintain a clean facility, and participate in providing high-quality veterinary service. This role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service experience, ideally in a veterinary or healthcare setting.
• Ability to schedule and coordinate appointments and follow-ups.
• Clear communication with clients about fees and services.
• Comfort with processing payments and explaining charges to clients.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and answer phones; guide clients and their pets to exam rooms.
• Schedule and confirm appointments, including surgical discharges and follow-ups.
• Make outbound calls for follow-ups and prospective clients.
• Present and explain fees; process payments.
• Recommend and obtain products and services, including prescriptions.
• Educate clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care.
• Manage medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and organization inside and outside.

Why We Need You

As the face of VCA, the Client Service Representative sets the tone for the practice as we build and maintain each customer's trust and confidence in our abilities.

• Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.
• Scheduling and confirming appointments, including, but not limited to: coordinating surgical discharges and follow-ups.
• Outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
• Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
• Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions.
• Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control).
• Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
• Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring that facility is neat and clean at all times both inside and outside.

You will also be paid for holidays that fall on a scheduled workday, even if you are home celebrating.

Pay commensurate with experience in the range of $18-$21 per hour.
