Job summary

North Griffin Animal Hospital in Griffin, GA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. The role supports restraint, triage, lab work, radiographs, anesthesia monitoring, and client communication in a busy, family‑owned practice.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 2-years experience preferred.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
• Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises.
• May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.
• Opportunities through a variety of virtual and hands on, interactive training and continuing development.

North Griffin Animal Hospital is a family-owned small animal practice in Griffin, Georgia, just 30 minutes south of Atlanta. Our goal is to keep pets happy and healthy through high-quality care and diagnostic services. We provide quality, affordable care through a hard-working and dedicated team. Our practice has been consistently voted as the Best Vet Office in Griffin, and we work hard to maintain this standard. Our team has nearly 30 years of experience with veterinary medicine.

Our facility provides preventative and wellness care, surgery, urgent care, dentistry, and more. Our complete wellness packages include vaccinations, check-ups, and heartworm prevention. Whether clients are in need of routine procedures or more serious operations, we perform a wide range of surgeries in-house including spays, neuters, oral, and soft tissue surgery.
