Job summary

California Veterinary Hospital, part of United Veterinary Care, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support doctors and the care team in a fast-paced clinic in California. You’ll help with patient evaluations, client communication, and record-keeping, contributing to a welcoming, educational experience for pet families.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of veterinary or human medical experience preferred.
• Comfortable using computers (EMR systems, email, basic programs).
• Strong technical and clinical skills.
• Excellent communication with clients and team members.
• Able to lift/restrain pets up to 40 lbs and be on your feet throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors and technicians with procedures and surgeries
• Provide pre- and post-operative patient care
• Support preventative, sick, and injury visits
• Safely handle and restrain animals
• Collect and document patient histories in medical records
• Assist with anesthesia induction and monitoring
• Maintain surgical suites, instruments, and equipment
• Restock and organize medical supplies

Compensation

$19-$24/hour (DOE)
