Job summary

Rarebreed Veterinary Partners is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our Rarebreed clinic team in Gaithersburg, MD. You will support DVMs and LVTs, help with exams, radiographs, and medication administration, while maintaining a clean, safe environment for animal patients.

We offer a four-day work week with no weekend hours, a team-first atmosphere, and opportunities for professional growth and state-of-the-art training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Bring clients/patients to exam rooms and obtain history.
• Collect voided urine and fecal samples.
• Assist DVM/LVT with treatments and execute treatment orders.
• Keep cages clean and sanitized.
• Walk, feed, and pick up after animals.
• Perform cleaning duties as needed (laundry, dishes, mopping).
• Communicate with clients by phone and in person.
• Take and assist with taking radiographs and filling prescribed medications.
• Restrain animals and have a basic understanding of prescribed medications.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Bringing clients/patients to exam rooms and obtaining history
• Collecting voided urine/fecal samples
• Assisting DVM/LVT with treatments
• Executing treatment orders
• Keeping cages clean and sanitized
• Walking, feeding, and picking up after animals
• Cleaning duties as needed (Laundry, Dishes, Mopping, etc...)

• Restraining animals
• Have a basic understanding of prescribed medications

REQUIREMENTS
