Job summary

Wedington Animal Hospital in Fayetteville, AR is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our established 10-doctor practice. Responsibilities include restraining pets, triage, collecting and analyzing lab samples, radiographs, basic nursing care, and communicating treatment plans with clients.

Experience: a minimum of 1 year as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred. We value compassion, teamwork, clear communication, and a proactive attitude.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples.
• Diagnostic imaging and anesthesia monitoring are part of the role.
• Administration of medications and nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.
• Effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance.

Wedington Animal Hospital is a well-established, progressive, 10 doctor general practice located in Fayetteville, AR. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including Wellness Services, Preventative Care, Urgent Care, Emergency & Critical Care, General & Orthopedic Surgery,Internal/External Medicine, Digital Full Body and Dental X-Ray, Dedicated Dental Suite, Ultrasound, Full In-House Laboratory, In-House Pharmacy, Cold Therapy Laser, Medical and/or Vacation Boarding, Grooming & more.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, andanesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.
