Are you passionate about animal health and dedicated to delivering compassionate care? Metro Paws Animal Hospital – Skillman is looking for a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic and supportive team!

In this vital role, you’ll support our veterinarians by performing essential technical duties and delivering exceptional care to pets and their owners. Whether you're assisting in surgery or ensuring hospitalized pets receive top-quality care, you’ll help improve patient outcomes while growing your skills in a positive, team-oriented environment.

What You'll Do

• Perform intravenous catheter placements and venipuncture
• Administer medications (IV, SQ, and oral)
• Take and process radiographs
• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and diagnostics
• Collect blood and lab samples; provide patient restraint
• Educate and communicate with clients regarding pet care
• Care for hospitalized patients and assist with discharge instructions
• Perform dental cleanings and take dental radiographs
• Support surgical procedures including prep, monitoring, and recovery
• Collaborate closely with fellow veterinary team members

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of veterinary assistant or technician experience
• Proficiency in surgical assistance and patient care
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
• Capable of lifting 50+ lbs. safely
• Availability to work at least one weekend day ($2/hr. shift differential on Sundays)
