We are currently searching for a superstar veterinary assistant to add to our roster. Enough about us, let's talk about you! The veterinary assistant plays a key role as they support the veterinary care team. As such, it is important that you are reliable, have a positive attitude, and work well with others. You will be interacting with clients daily, so you must be able to provide top-notch service.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Assist with patient care and treatment
• Monitor hospitalized pets / monitor and aid in caring for animals after surgery
• Maintain inventory and stock supplies
• Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims
• Aid with routine diagnostic tests (taking radiographs, running bloodwork, reading fecal samples)
• Maintain & sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
• Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas
• Administer medications under Veterinarian or Vet Tech supervision
• Feed and bathe animals
• Assist clients with their pets

Qualifications :

• Must be 18 years old or older
• Must be a self-starter, able to multitask, and a team player
• Genuinely enjoys working with animals and can assist when they are stressed, ill, or in pain
• Prefer 1+ years of experience, but not required
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting, carrying, and restraining animals (assisted by staff for animals over 40 lbs). Must be able to lift 40 lbs
• Walk or stand for extended periods; frequently work in a bent or squatting position
• Experience with team collaboration and working well with all hospital team levels
