VCA Madeira Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. You will support veterinarians and technicians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures, restrain animals, administer medications, and help with lab work while keeping patient records up to date.

Location at 7250 Miami Ave, Cincinnati, OH. We offer a compassionate, fast-paced environment with opportunities to educate clients and maintain a clean, organized facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6+ months of experience in a veterinary setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
• Safely restrain animals for treatments and diagnostics.
• Administer medications and vaccinations under supervision.
• Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, feces).
• Perform basic diagnostic tests, including radiographs and blood tests.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
• Educate clients on general animal care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of examination rooms, surgical areas, and kennels.
• Manage inventory and order medical supplies as needed.
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and answering phones.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will support our veterinarians and technicians in delivering top-notch medical care, ensuring the well-being of our patients, and maintaining a clean and organized facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.


• Safely restrain animals for treatments and diagnostics.


• Administer medications and vaccinations under supervision.
