Job summary

VCA Northwood Animal Hospital in Springfield, OH is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in patient care and client experiences. The role involves restraining animals, preparing exam rooms, and maintaining hospital areas.

The position requires prior animal care experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time opportunity with rotating Saturdays and 4 x 10 hour shifts.

The Role

As a Veterinary Assistant , you'll play an important role in supporting both patient care and the client experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with animals, being part of a team, and gaining hands‑on experience in a veterinary setting.

What You'll Do

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care
• Restrain pets safely and comfortably during exams and procedures

• Clean, sterilize, and maintain hospital areas
• Support feeding, walking, and basic animal care
• Help provide a positive and welcoming experience for clients

Schedule

Full-time opportunity with rotating Saturdays. 4 x 10 hour shifts

Compensation

The starting range is $ 17 - 18/hr and determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field.
