Job summary

PetCare Animal Hospital in Cincinnati is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our caring team. Duties include animal restraint, triage, lab analysis, imaging, nursing care, and client communication.

Qualifications

  • An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
  • Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
  • Must be able to properly restrain pets.
  • Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, andanesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
  • Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Responsibilities

  • Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
  • Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises.
  • May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

PetCare Animal Hospital has been proudly serving the Cincinnati area since 1986, providing exceptional veterinary care to dogs, cats, birds, and exotic pets. Led by Dr. Peter Hill, our dedicated team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff is passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate care to every patient that walks—or flies—through our doors.

With two locations in Blue Ash and Loveland, we offer a wide range of services using advanced technology in a modern, fully equipped facility. Our team takes pride in staying up to date with the latest in veterinary medicine through continuing education and hands-on experience.

Dr. Hill also serves as a staff veterinarian at the Newport Aquarium, where he cares for a variety of unique and exotic species—reflecting the diverse and exciting caseload our hospital supports.

Additional Information

Pay Range: starting at $15 - $16/hr
