GENERAL DESCRIPTION Grant Veterinary Care is a new surgical and preventative care center specializing in High Quality High Volume Spays Neuters (HQHVSN). Our mission is to serve the local community, rescues, and shelters by delivering the highest quality medicine through state-of-the-art care, exceptional client education, and a dedicated veterinary team. Open for less than a year, we offer wellness, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and minor illness services, and we are looking to add another great personality. CLASSIFICATION, SALARY, AND BENEFITS Part-time and full-time options $14-16 / hour depending on experience Brand new clinic with high quality anesthesia, surgical, and dental equipment Flexible schedule and hours Employee discount Paid time off Professional development assistance (continuing education) RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Provide the highest quality medical services, dental procedures and other surgical care to public, shelter, and rescue patients in our surgical program.
Work with clients to provide services tailored to their needs and the needs of their pets to build relationships enhance client education.
Function independently and as part of a team with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and client service representatives.
Be a team player who fosters a positive attitude.
Provide care for 20-30 cats and dogs per day in spay / neuter and soft tissue surgery.
Administer injections including pain medications, vaccinations, and other medications .
Administer subcutaneous fluids as needed .
Monitor vital signs of sedated and anesthetized patients in pre-operative, operative, and post-operative phases .
Provide treatments, take radiographs, and provide medical care as directed by the veterinarian .
Provide a safe and compassionate environment for animals in our care, our staff, and for our clients by using low-stress handling techniques .
Assist with patient exams, take medical history, perform diagnostic testing, and prepare medications to be sent home with patients.
Operate and ensure functionally of anesthetic machines, pulse oximeters, scales, and other equipment.
Assist with humane euthanasia .
Work with coworkers to clean and disinfect animal areas, equipment, instruments, and facility.
