Job summary

VCA Albemarle Veterinary Health Care Center in Charlottesville seeks a Veterinary Assistant to join our close-knit 3-doctor practice. Full-time or part-time roles available, with a culture that supports growth and mentorship.

We value compassionate patient care, client education, and teamwork. Responsibilities include assisting with medications, lab work, imaging, dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, and medical recordkeeping in a welcoming hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary assistant or technician is preferred.
• Flexible schedule for full-time or part-time roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient care and client education.
• Assist with pharmacy tasks and medication administration.
• Collect and process lab samples; perform diagnostic imaging as needed.
• Assist in surgical preparation and monitoring anesthesia.
• Maintain accurate medical records and coordinate care for patients.
