Job summary

Animal Hospital of Avon in Avon, IN, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support daily patient care and client education. Responsibilities include triage, restraint, sample collection, lab work, radiographs, and assisting with anesthesia under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ years veterinary assistant experience preferred.

• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing lab tests and radiographs; anesthesia monitoring a bonus.

Job description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1+ years experience preferred.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $16-$23/ hour
