The caring team at The Village Vets Westside is seeking an experienced DVM to join their inclusive, diverse, and team-oriented family.

DVMs have one surgery day per week and 30-minute scheduled appointments. Walk-ins are also encouraged.

We have in-house diagnostic abilities including Idexx lab machines, digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, and ultrasound. Our hospital has separate surgery and dental suites.

Doctor's hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Saturday.

Veterinary Assistant Position

We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing hospital to provide exceptional care to our patients! You will work alongside other skilled Vet Assistants, support our Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and DVMs in the daily flow of the hospital. Position Skills:

• Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and proactively setting up for procedures or diagnostic tests
• Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner
• Obtain accurate vitals, medical histories, and note any changes in the patient's condition to the DVM
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies
• Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and other essential tools
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient updates and questions

Position Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED certificate
• Flexible schedule including some weekend and holiday shifts
• Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling
• Strong communication skills, good judgment, ability to manage stressful situations, and respectful teamwork
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
